Welcome to MyDNAgenealogy.com, a site documenting one genealogist’s journey to find answers through the study of genealogy DNA. As I begin this journey to learn more my own genealogy DNA, I am hoping that visitors will also come and share their experiences and findings. I plan to share about the process of getting my genealogy DNA tested, the insights gained, and how I integrate the findings into my research.
Genealogy is often said to be one the most popular pursuits in America today. Every day interest in genealogy grows exponentially. Accessibility is increasing as more and more records are becoming easier to access online and off. Yet to many interested individuals, genealogy remains mysterious and difficult. I hope to provide a fresh perspective that addresses some some basic questions newcomers to genealogy and how genealogy dna plays a role. Will I be accepting clients while pursuing this journey? Absolutely! However, I will only be accepting a limited amount of clients at this time. In addition to my pursuits in genealogy and historical studies, I am also enjoying my role as father to a beautiful two year old daughter and a very active infant son. I have made it my priority to spend as much time as possible with my wife and children and document our lives for the generations that will follow. MyDNAgenealogy.com is a blog and article repository for Drummond Research LLC, a public records research firm founded in 2004 by me, Jaye Drummond. I am a professional genealogist with additional experience in title searching, private investigations, and legal and historical research. I graduated from Louisiana State University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in history and have been researching my family's history and others' genealogies since 1989. I plan to pursue certification and a master's degree while endeavoring to balance family life and my genealogy research, both personal and professional.

Certification is approval by the Board for Certified Genealogists® and results in the researcher having the right to use CG after his name. Certified genealogists have been carefully vetted by a board of professionals who evaluate the quality of their professional work. I currently conduct research as a professional genealogist and it is my intent to further my credentials by becoming certified. This site will document those efforts and act as a contact page for my genealogy business.
